Upcycling vintage buttons has always been part of the Eliana Curated story. Now, we’re inviting you to be part of that process.

August 10th, Eliana Curated initiated its Bring Your Own Button campaign for anyone to be a part of. Bring a button of your choice to our flagship store in Old Town, Alexandria that means something to you, and our team will work with you to transform it into a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry designed around your personal style.

Maybe it’s a vintage designer button you’ve been saving for years. A button from your grandmother’s favorite jacket. A treasured find from a trip. Or something small that holds a much bigger story.

That’s why we created Bring Your Own Button — a new custom experience at Eliana Curated that transforms the buttons and keepsakes you already love into jewelry you can actually wear.

Here at Eliana Curated you can bring us your button and we’ll help you turn it into something you’ll actually wear. Whether it be a necklace, bracelet, ring, or a pair of earrings, we’ll work with you to find the style and setting that works best for your piece.

A Scrip Story

And sometimes, the stories behind these tiny treasures surprise even us.

Recently, a customer reached out with something we had never worked with before: a piece of coal company scrip that belonged to her grandfather.

Her grandfather had been a coal miner in southern West Virginia before serving during World War II. At the time, miners were sometimes paid in company scrip rather than traditional currency, which could only be spent at stores owned by the coal company.

After all these years, she was able to retain one of these scrips.

For years, she had wanted to turn this piece of her family into something she could wear — a way to preserve a tangible piece of her grandfather’s history instead of keeping it tucked away.

Reaching out through Instagram, this customer wished to consult us on how to make her wish become reality.

So we did.

By providing a photo of the scrip, we were able to consult with our team what wearable manifestation this piece of history could become. After talking through the different options, we decided a necklace was the perfect way to showcase the piece. It allowed the original details to really

stand out while creating something she could easily wear and enjoy for years to come.

Seeing the finished piece was such a special moment. What started as something that had been carefully saved for years is now a necklace she can actually wear and keep close. We love that the original piece is still the focus, it just has a whole new way to be enjoyed.
